CONSULTATION & DESIGN
To begin distilling the client’s wildest dreams into a reality, a 3D rendering has been created, resulting from a collaborative effort between client and Texas Pool Champions Design Team (referred to as “The Dream Team”).
CONSTRUCTION DRAWING
The “Dream Team” has creatively compiled all essential custom swimming pool elements into a 3D rendering. A construction drawing was created for the use of all the different construction professionals. This drawing shows dimensions, setbacks, elevations, etc.
LAYOUT & EXCAVATION
The “groundbreaking” day has finally arrived! All the underground utilities have been marked by “Dig Alert”. The custom swimming pool has been laid out and elevations have been established. The dig starts (you may have trouble getting your kids onto the school bus). Within hours, you have a big hole in your backyard.
STEEL, ROUGH PLUMBING AND ELECTRICAL
Excavation is complete. Now it is time to put some bones into the project. Rebar is the swimming pool’s skeletal material, holding and strengthening your project’s concrete and the swimming pool’s gunite shell. Next, the plumbers and electricians rough-in their portion of work, completing the pool’s readiness for gunite.
GUNITE
Gunite is a mixture of cement, sand, and water applied through a pressure hose, producing a dense, hard layer of concrete. Gunite is used to create the strong structural (lifetime guaranteed) shell of the swimming pool. This day usually begins early and as the gunite crews drive off, magically, a swimming pool appears in your backyard.
EQUIPMENT PLACEMENT
The structure of your pool and the quality of its construction are paramount, but equally important is the area where the swimming pool equipment will be placed. Neatly-placed, easily accessible swimming pool equipment is key to an efficiently operating, easy-to-maintain pool.
WATER FEATURES, TILE, AND COPING
Whether it is spectacular rock waterfalls, awe-inspiring grottos, or dazzling fire bowls, there is nothing like the feeling you get witnessing your pool come to life as the tile and coping you chose is applied. Decking is usually done during this phase of the swimming pool’s construction.
PLASTERING
From regular to ridiculous, when it comes to your swimming pool’s plaster, the choice is all yours. Consider plaster as your pool’s personality. Determining whether you want a majestic, mountainous lake, or a modern Mediterranean masterpiece in your backyard, is all up to you. Your selection of color, texture, and material will be expertly applied and troweled to perfection, creating a beautiful, smooth surface.
FINISHED PROJECT
There you go. Three to six weeks later, your phenomenal outdoor oasis is complete! Hold on…that’s not the end. When your pool is filled, our quality assurance specialist (QAS) will come start up your pool. He will also complete quality assurance testing on your new pool equipment.
